Located right next to Central Station in the heart of Eindhoven's city center, the Lightyards area development consists of four buildings. With The Social Hub, the first building within Lightyards already in use as a hotel as of 2017, the tone has been set. Now the realization of the 242 apartments, divided between two residential buildings (Highlight and Lumen), will begin. In a later phase, another state-of-the-art, multi-tenant office building (Connector) will be realized. The realization is done by BAM Wonen.

Residential tower Highlight is 75 meters high and offers space for 192 rental apartments (medium rental and free sector) in various types, including co-living apartments according to AM's Friends living concept. In addition to apartments, the building offers several high-quality collective facilities for residents such as a Sky-Garden at 75 meters, a Secret-Garden at ground level and the Lighthouse Club on the first floor. There will also be 185 parking spaces in the two-story, sunken parking garage for all four Lightyards buildings. All 192 apartments in Highlight have been purchased by investor Investe, which will rent the units after completion.

Residential building Lumen is a residential building approximately 30 meters high that consists of fifty owner-occupied apartments, including two studio apartments on the first floor and several penthouses with private roof terraces on the highest residential floor. Sales of these apartments are expected to begin in mid-2025.

On Wednesday, November 20, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the start of construction will be celebrated with those involved. Aldermen Stijn Steenbakkers (a.o. KnoopXL) and Mieke Verhees (a.o. Wonen) will perform the official act together with Jaap van Engelshoven (Director of Development at AM) and Simon van den Boomen (Investe).

The Lightyards project, together with the adjacent projects District E, EDGE Eindhoven and the underground bicycle parking under the Stationsplein, form the development on the south side of Eindhoven Central Station. These projects are part of the area development KnoopXL Eindhoven. This will be a new vibrant area in the heart of Eindhoven where living, working, relaxing and meeting come together in a green outdoor space.

Lightyards fits perfectly within the substantial development task of the Eindhoven Metropolitan Area. The buildings within the plan meet the great demand for a contemporary and future-proof rental and owner-occupied housing supply and a centrally located sustainable work location where accessibility, a green living environment, meeting and connecting are central.

All four buildings within Lightyards were designed by De Architekten Cie. and the outdoor spaces (including Sky Garden) were designed by ZUS (Zones Urbaines Sensibles). The sale of Highlight was in the hands of Van Santvoort Makelaars.
