In the final phase of Het Dorpshart, mid- and corner houses in different sizes as well as semi-detached houses will be realized. All homes are energy efficient. They are equipped with high-quality insulation and an air-water heat pump that extracts ambient heat, compresses it and uses it to heat tap water and the home (underfloor heating). In addition, the homes have a climate-adaptive storage shed with sedum roof.
The architecture of the homes, like the previous phases in Het Dorpshart, is in Old Dutch style. The designs are by Pieter Looijaard commissioned by Weusten Liedenbaum Architects.
Characteristic of Het Dorpshart is the cozy residential atmosphere, the village character that is partly focused on meeting between residents. The Brink with facilities such as a supermarket, school, childcare and stores forms the heart of the village. Parking takes place mainly on courtyards. This will keep the streets and courtyards car-free and give children plenty of room to play safely outside.

Het Dorpshart
Official act
Alderman Joop van Montfoort of the Vijfheerenlanden municipality performed the official ceremony for these sixty homes together with future residents. “The heart of Hoef en Haag is really beating now with the start of this last piece of village heart. As alderman for spatial planning, mobility AND sustainability, I am pleased with this beautiful addition to the village: sustainable homes, in a car-free environment. Children can grow up safely here, people meet here and their lives become engaged. Exactly as you expect in a village. A quiet, cozy living environment yet close to all amenities. Congratulations to all the new residents. Follow your heart, because it's right.”
“You build a house with bricks, but you build a village together. With this very last phase of The Village Heart, we are not only bringing homes to life, but growing a community. Here people will not just live, but really live - with room for meeting, connection and the village feeling that makes Hoef en Haag so special,” says Marije Gerverdinck, project director Hoef en Haag CV.
