The redevelopment site is located on the edge of residential boulevard WOOON opposite the Alrijne hospital. The current church building will make way for the new Elisabethhof apartment complex. This complex will soon offer housing for different target groups, such as active seniors, starters, people moving on and people who have a social or economic connection to Leiderdorp.
Approximately 35 percent of the apartments will be social rental housing and 30 percent will be middle rental housing. The remaining apartments will be free-sector owner-occupied homes. All homes will be life-cycle-proof and thus suitable for different stages of life.
Alderman for Housing, Spatial Planning and Sustainability Gebke van Gaal said, “This is a wonderful project. There will be affordable housing and the developer has paid a lot of attention to sustainability. The plan also gives a nice boost to living together in Leiderdorp. We look forward to the moment when the homes are realized.”
Annemarie Jol (Director of Development at AM): “We are pleased to be able to add a diverse, affordable and sustainable housing offer for various target groups to Leiderdorp, in a constructive cooperation with the municipality.”
AM and Leiderdorp municipality sign agreement for new building Elisabethhof in Leiderdorp
19 December 2024Area developer AM will build an apartment complex on the site of the Power City Church on the Elisabethhof. Today, gemeente Leiderdorp and AM signed the agreement detailing their arrangements for the new building. The apartment complex will contain about 220 social, medium and private sector homes. On the first floor is space for about 800 m² of (commercial) facilities. Some of the facilities will have a healthcare function. The current church building will be demolished in a circular fashion.
Housing for different target groups
Water storage, biodiversity and healthy living
Residents will soon look out onto the greenery of a large courtyard garden. This will provide for relaxation and meeting but also for the collection of (rain) water, cooling of the environment during heat and greater biodiversity. We are also looking into the possibility of green roofs and green facades. Healthy behavior among residents will be encouraged by focusing on cycling instead of car transportation.
Care facilities
The apartment complex will have communal meeting areas. This will increase social contact and prevent loneliness. Residents will be able to live independently for longer. A concept will be created for housing active seniors. For them, for example, it will be possible to receive care if necessary. The care facilities will be on the first floor of the building.
