A new green and water-rich neighborhood is rising in the residential area of Bangert and Oosterpolder. 'The Stolptuin' will be located on the northeastern edge of Hoorn on the corner of Westerblokker and the Strip and is surrounded by the old village ribbons of Blokker and Zwaag. It is a varied residential area with eighty sustainable owner-occupied and fourteen social housing units in a beautiful architectural style with a village character. The homes were designed by Rietvink Architects. Along the waterfront there will be charming semi-detached houses and several spacious detached houses. The back-to-back houses and the various row houses are situated along the green strips. All owner-occupied homes have been sold. Housing corporation Intermaris owns the social rental homes in the plan.

“Within the municipality we are working hard to build more housing for all target groups. We are doing this with partners such as EWF. Great that the construction of the homes in project Stolptuin in the Bangert & Oosterpolder has now really started. There will be 94 homes here. A mix of social housing to detached houses. This project contributes to the ambition of Hoorn to be an attractive residential municipality for all its inhabitants and to add 6000 homes to the municipality in the coming years,” said alderman Marjon van der Ven.
